Offline Marketing: Do You Twitter? Twitter This…

Q: A lot of the ebooks I’ve been reading suggest that I offer local small businesses Social Marketing. I’ve been thinking that’s a good way to go. The going price is $199 to $399 per month for this type of service. What do you think?
A: My own personal opinion is that selling an offline business which is mostly “brick and mortar” a Social Marketing package is a waste of your client’s money. Yes, it’s easy money because you’re taking advantage of the small business owner’s ignorance of how things work.
However, you have to ask yourself, are you in this business for the quick cash or for the long term?
Offering your clients bogus services such as Social Marketing is a waste of their money. Backlinks are not as important to them as it is to a business which is exclusively on the Internet.
Case in point is both Offline Marketing Trainer and our parent company Citadel Media Solutions have never used Social Marketing such as Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. We also don’t have a high Alexa Ranking and rarely does Google index us. (Although our clients sites are usually on front page of Google).
Unless you can PROVE with quantifiable evidence that your backlinks are driving prospects with money and ready to buy to their business then ethically you’re not doing your client any favors. And, once they realize you’ve been taken advantage of them it won’t take them long to tell other business owners.
Think about it,
Talk to you soon….

Finally! Someone who understands this. Backlinks are basically useless to an offline business. It’s not a matter of ranking. It’s a matter of sales and profits.
Hats off to you!
If you have this part right then chances are you have a lot more figured out. I’m very interested in learning more about your video services. I can see where that can be very profitable. Submitting a support ticket ASAP!
